Good Morning! Yesterday was the official first day of fall, but it definitely didn't feel like it! I paired this black scrappy crop top and high waisted white skirt (via Hey Jule) with my new pair of black wedges because I'm completely obsessed with black and white together (my insta feed is proof). I actually ordered this crop top on a whim from forever 21, but it turned out much cuter than I expected! Trying to work fall into my wardrobe, but this weather is not cooperating!

{fun in the sun}

Top: Nordstrom (similar here) // Skirt: Forever 21 (similar here) // Shoes: Nordstrom (similar here) //
Purse: Anthropologie (similar pattern here)
It was *slightly* cooler here, so I could finally wear my white faux leather skirt that I've been dying to wear. White and navy are one of my favorite color combinations, and I love how this bag I borrowed from Julia added a bit of pattern! When I wear solid colors, sometimes adding a patterned accessory can give the look more interest. Just try to keep the color palette in tune!

{strapless on the high line}

The high line is by far one of my favorite places in the city so far, so I am beyond excited to share some outfit photos from my evening spent wandering its relaxing walkways. Seriously, whoever came up with the idea to turn a decaying railroad track into a beautiful nature-filled overpass was a genius. Its still super hot here, so I've been trying to mix summery pieces with some more fall-esque items, like this thrifted top (thank you beacon's closet!) with a pair of jeans.

{all black for nyfw}

Heels: thrifted (similar here) // Dress: Forever 21 (similar here and here) // Chain Bracelet: thrifted (similar here)
9/12/15

In about an hour, I'm gonna go head off to help work my very first nyfw show...what a surreal experience! Last night my suite mate Audra (SNY) and I wandered down to check out where many of the shows this year are being held--skyline. We even had a couple street photographers snap pics of us, which was flattering but funny as we weren't actually going to any shows, just taking blog pics and enjoying the evening.

It's officially the first day of fashion week! Here in NYC, I am beyond excited to see all the wonderful street style that is coming. I'm very excited to be volunteering at the talented South Korean designer Lie Sang Bong's fashion show, and am looking forward to getting further involved in years to come! All three of my roommates and I visited the lincoln center (where fashion week used to be held) and had a fun evening photoshoot. Black, white, and red are pretty much my favorite color combination for any outfit, and I am completely in love with this asos off the shoulder top. Definitely a big trend over the summer and will stay on-trend into fall.

The last photo is of me and Jules, my wonderful roommate and photographer, whom I love! I thought you all deserved to see our ridiculous relationship, and she deserved to be seen. If you have a moment, check out her blog Hey Jule!

This was an outfit I wore this weekend as it's still boiling in the city and I needed something light and loose to walk around in. I thrifted these culottes from a vintage store in the city, and absolutely love them! Loose pants and a crop top are truly the best way to go when its hot out. My roommate Jules (Hey Jule) and I wandered around the Chelsea Market, then made a trip downtown to see an awesome angel wing mural. The market was absolutely adorable, can't believe I'd never been there before despite living in Chelsea! I stopped to take blog pictures at this cute park we passed, as I loved the paint-swatch look of the walls there. Jules was a great photographer too--despite getting hit in the crossfire of a children's dodgeball game!) Hope your labor day is wonderful! (ps--if you click on the purse, I promise it comes in the nude color)

Welcome Fall! For me, September first will always feel like the beginning of fall, even if the weather here in NYC is protesting! I had some of my college classes today, and felt appropriately artsy in my roommate's overalls (thanks Soobin!). As much as I would have loved to put a turtleneck under them, (so very ready for boots and sweaters), the weather today mandated a crop top. Side note: if anyone is looking for a great red lip stain, highly recommend this Stila one!

Thanks to Hey Jule for the photography!
