{stripe central}

sweater: banana republic // skirt: nordstoms // shoes: zara
Stripes on stripes, oh my! Style tip: when mixing patterns, you can get a cool effect by using the same pattern & color story in different sizes, like i did with the varying stripe size.

{it's so fluffy i'm gonna die!}

pants: loft (similar here) // coat: vintage (similar here) // turtleneck: zara (very similar here) // boots: thrifted (similar here)
I couldn't help quoting my favorite character from the movie Despicable Me in this post's title, because seriously--how unbelievably fluffy is this coat!? I've been waiting for cool enough weather to break this guy out, and the cold temperatures left over from last weekend's blizzard definitely did the trick! I actually got this coat from a vintage market in Arizona on vacation with my grandparents, and they ended up giving it to me for Christmas last year! Since I wanted to keep the coat the focal point of the look, I kept the rest of my outfit understated in simple black.

{mad for plaid}

sweater: thrifted jcrew (similar here) // skirt: vintage (similar here) // shoes: thrifted cole haan (similar here)
After church yesterday afternoon, my family and I had the wonderful surprise of snow flurries when we went into town for lunch! I love this skirt I got from grandmother, particularly because of its cute little vintage pin shaped like a sword. When wearing a bold print, I often like to pick a neutral color for the rest of the outfit, like the nude I'm wearing in the shoes, purse, and sweater.

{blue bandana}

bandana: vintage (very similar here) // sweater: old (similar here) // jeans: Levis 501 (here)
If you can't tell by how red my nose and cheeks are, it's been quite chilly in northern VA the past couple of weeks! Though I added this cute blue bandana for style, I'm not quite sure it was the best choice warmth-wise. Shoutout to Jule for coming down for a few days last week and being my photographer again!

1 shirt // 3 ways

Hey guys! When my roommate Jules came to visit me in VA for a few days last week, and I may or may not have forced her to shoot a youtube video for me ;) It shows my three favorite ways to wear a basic button-down, hope you enjoy! (video here or click the photo below)

some basic button downs I love: hereherehere, and here

{twirl}

shoes: london rebel (similar here) // shirt: asos (similar here) // skirt: vintage (kind-of similar here)
Being home in VA again means the search for fun backgrounds is much harder than when I'm in NYC. But, I did find these super cool paintings and chairs in the adorable mosaic district near my house! I love how interesting the individual artworks are (almost as much as I love twirling in this fun vintage skirt), and think it was the perfect backdrop! Style tip: If you have a skirt thats extra full, try pairing it with a tight top to keep things balanced.

{ladder loving}

sweater: anthro (similar here) // jeans: loft (similar here) // shoes: bcbg (I like these too) // purse: vintage coach (I like this  purse and this purse in a similar color)
Back home and back in Georgetown! I've never been a huge fan of DC, but Georgetown has had my heart ever since I lay eyes on its cute and colorful buildings. My friend Hanna and I went into the city before she went back to Baylor, and snapped some fun pics on the stairs in front of a law office. If it works it works, right?
