It seems like life has been on a constant fast-forward these past couple months, and I can barely keep up! With the move to California less than two weeks away, life has been absolutely packed with things to do (and with boxes!). My bestie Jule and her family were kind enough to not only let me crash at their house in PA for a couple days, but also store all my college stuff for me when I'm in Florence (so unbelievable generous). We snapped a few blog photos when we went into town--most of the things I'm wearing are Julia's! (still constantly on the hunt for the perfect overalls, the madewell ones I linked are out of my size)  :( 

Joyful About

 

1. Photography! Having recently started using lightroom (aka photoshop's cool little sister), I've been super into playing around with photography again! It's been fun to take photos that aren't just outfit photos, and forcing my friends into photo sessions against their will has been a blast too! ;)

2. Illustration! Being done with freshman year at FIT has meant a lot less forced drawing, which has meant I've been slackin' on my illustrations a bit! I was able to take a few hours on vacation to sketch out some of my favorite looks from one of my fav designers (Giambattista Valli) after he showed in Paris, and it was a breath of fresh air to be able to be creative again!

3. Time with the besties! Not only did I get to go on vacation to Kiawah with my best friend from good ol' high school, but I also had the privilege of two of my college friends visiting home, and visiting my old roomie Jules (Hey Jule) at her lovely home in PA! I'd say thats worth raising a cone to! :)

So sorry for the lack of posts--between moving to CA and getting ready to study abroad in Florence life has been a bit hectic! My family and I went to my bestie's house for a little goodbye dinner, and I nabbed the bouquet we gave them to take photos with first! Hydrangeas one of my favorite flowers, and they matched perfectly with these thrifted BCBG pants I got last year (see how I styled them in an old post here too). Style tip: knotting a white button down at the waist is always a fail-proof option for a top with any high waisted bottoms!

good morning from Virginia! I'm back from the beach, but missing it immensely! Here are the last few photos from Kiawah, on its beautiful flat beaches! One of the best parts of the vacation was riding our bicycles on the beach--feeling that ocean breeze was absolutely lovely. 

Kiawah Lovin'

Good Morning everyone! Life has been so wonderfully calm and relaxing the past couple of days, and I couldn't be happier! We've been using our beach cruisers to ride to the beach everyday (look out for a bike & beach post in a few days!) and the path there is absolutely gorgeous--tree lined paths with beautiful palms and spanish moss. I'm beyond thankful to be able to take a few days off and relax with my best friend and second family! This fun orange chair next to the pool on the deck of the house we're renting was the perfect photo prop, and matched with my swimsuit (a Victorias Secret find from awhile ago) quite nicely. Moment of silence for them closing their swimsuit line (you're killin' me Victoria).

I've been the total beach bum here in Kiawah, SC the past couple days, and am absolutely loving it! I'll be taking blog pictures soon, but until then I've put together a few fun beachy products I'm loving! Really feeling the "beach people" circular beach blanket (how photogenic is that?!) and the tarte tinted sunscreen! Personally suggest the birkenstocks--they're seriously the perfect beach shoe! (currently living in mine)

Hi guys! Since I'm going to be traveling to Kiawah for the next week (yay!) and am unsure of whether I'll be able to make a July 4th post when I'm there, I thought I'd share this red white & blue number a couple days early! I got these soludos shoes in the mail recently, and am absolutely in LOVE with them. Seriously, go buy a pair. Now. I decided to go with the red suede ones that have a bit of a platform, and am super happy with my choice! Red shoes are surprisingly versatile ;) I paired them with wide-leg pants from Ann Taylor, and a light chambray off the shoulder top from LOFT to finish out the patriotic color scheme, plus added a red velvet choker to match the shoes.  Also--was so very blessed to have two of my college besties in town for a few days! Nothing like good weather, food, and friends to make the days lovely <3
